The Wine Bar & Market is exactly what it advertises — a reliable, approachable wine experience in a dinner-friendly setting. If you want discovery and value, manage your expectations; if you want a solid glass with a good steak in a neighborhood that doesn't have many alternatives, this does the job.

The Grand Marlin is a reliable beach restaurant with a reliable beach wine list — nothing will disappoint you, and nothing will thrill you either. Come for the views and the Gulf shrimp, order the Whispering Angel or the Kim Crawford, and don't overthink it.

The wine list at Bonefish Grill Pensacola is exactly what it is: a chain afterthought priced above its station. Order a cocktail from their bar program, or save the wine for somewhere that actually tried.

Melting Pot Pensacola won't win any points for wine adventurousness, but the list is functional, the by-the-glass count is respectable, and it won't ruin your night. Send a friend here for the experience, just remind them to keep an eye on the markups.

Jackson's is a well-run steakhouse wine program with real depth and a sommelier who clearly cares — the markups are aggressive but Wednesday nights change the conversation entirely. If you can get there for Wine Down Wednesday, this punches above its class.

Pearl & Horn's wine list is doing the bare minimum — recognizable names, steep markups, and zero personality. The one reason to show up for wine is Wednesday after 5 PM, when half-price bottles turn that Beringer Knights Valley into a genuinely decent deal.

Brother Fox has the right instincts — a natural wine lean, a focused list, a kitchen that gives the wine something to work with — but the markup structure undercuts the goodwill. Come for the Condrieu, skip the Malbec, and root for them to keep pushing the list in the direction it's clearly reaching for.

McGuire's is a legitimately fun night out, and we'd send a friend here without hesitation — just not for the wine. Drink the beer, skip most of the list, and if it's Tuesday, the half-price bottle deal is the only reason to think about wine at all.

Drift is a perfectly fine place to drink wine if you're already there for the views and the vibe — the list is competent, a few bottles are genuinely worth ordering, and the setting does a lot of heavy lifting. Just don't come here expecting a wine program that matches the ambition of its Gulf-front real estate.
