First Impression
The wine list at Bellini feels like it was built to match the room — polished, Italian-forward, and not trying too hard to be clever. You get a clear sense that someone thought about this list, even if they haven't touched it much since. It's approachable without being lazy.
Selection Deep Dive
Italy does the heavy lifting here, which makes sense given the kitchen. You'll find Pinot Grigio from Attems in Collio, Chianti Classico from Rocca delle Macie, and Sancerre from Domaine du Nozay for the France contingent — all solid, recognizable producers. The Champagne section skews flashy with Gosset Grand Réserve, Laurent-Perrier, and Moët all making appearances, which reads more like a celebration menu than a dinner list. California shows up with Daou Vineyards Cab from Paso Robles and a Chardonnay from Tenuta Nozzole, rounding out a list that covers the bases without venturing far off the map.
By the Glass
Eighteen-plus options by the glass is genuinely impressive for a mid-size Italian restaurant, and the range spans bubbles to bold reds. Prices run $14 to $32 a glass, which is where things start to sting — you're paying a premium for names that aren't exactly rare finds. That said, the breadth means you're not stuck ordering a bottle if you want to explore.
Chianti Classico Rocca delle Macie Toscana 2019 — $14
At the floor of the bottle pricing, Rocca delle Macie is a dependable Chianti producer with real structure and grip — it's the kind of wine that outperforms its price tag and works with half the menu.
Sauvignon Blanc Domaine du Nozay Sancerre 2019
Most tables at an Italian restaurant are going to default to Pinot Grigio or reach for the Chianti, which means this Sancerre gets ignored. Domaine du Nozay is a serious Loire producer, and this bottle cuts right through anything creamy or seafood-forward on the menu.
Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut Champagne
You're going to pay a steep restaurant markup on one of the most widely distributed Champagnes on the planet. It's not bad — it's just everywhere, and the price reflects the label more than what's in the glass.
Chardonnay Le Bruniche Tenuta Nozzole 2018 + Branzino
Tenuta Nozzole's Chardonnay has enough body to hold up to the branzino without drowning the fish — it's got texture and weight where a lighter white would fade, but it won't compete with whatever's on the plate.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Bellini is a reliable wine stop for downtown Providence — the list is thoughtful enough to reward a little attention, but pricing keeps it from being a destination for wine lovers. Go for the pasta, drink the Sancerre, and don't overthink it.
