First Impression
Walk into Foxcroft and the first thing you notice is the walls — floor-to-ceiling wine shelves inside a century-old Ford dealership that's been converted into something actually worth visiting. The space does a lot of the heavy lifting, and honestly, it earns it. Once you settle in, the list is substantial enough to take seriously.
Selection Deep Dive
Hundreds of bottles spanning France, Italy, California, Argentina, and New Zealand gives this place genuine range for a mid-sized Southern city. You'll find Catena Zapata Malbec rubbing shoulders with Louis Jadot Burgundy, which tells you the buyers at least know their way around the Old World alongside the obvious crowd-pleasers. That said, the list leans heavily on safe, familiar names — Whispering Angel and Kim Crawford are doing a lot of work here, and there's not much to excite someone who's moved past the grocery store tier. Still, for Greenville, this is one of the better-stocked lists you'll find.
By the Glass
Thirty-plus by-the-glass options is legitimately impressive and one of Foxcroft's strongest selling points — most wine bars half this size offer a third as many pours. The price ceiling of $18 a glass keeps things accessible, and with bottles running $20–$40, this is one of the rare spots where ordering by the glass doesn't feel like a penalty. Rotation appears limited, so don't count on surprises if you're a regular.
Catena Zapata Malbec — $40
Catena Zapata is one of Argentina's benchmark producers, and finding it at the top of Foxcroft's bottle price range — rather than doubled up at a steakhouse — is a genuine win. You're drinking serious Mendoza juice at a price that doesn't sting.
Louis Jadot Burgundy
Most people at Foxcroft are ordering rosé or Sauvignon Blanc, which means the Jadot Burgundy sits quietly on the shelf. In a list full of crowd-pleasers, this is the one bottle that signals someone here actually thought about Pinot Noir — don't let it collect dust.
Whispering Angel Rosé
Look, it's fine — it's always fine. But Whispering Angel is a $25 bottle at Costco, and you're paying wine bar prices for a label that survives almost entirely on Instagram recognition. At a place with this much shelf space, you can do better.
Louis Jadot Burgundy + Cheese and charcuterie board
A proper Burgundy next to a well-assembled charcuterie board is one of those combinations that doesn't need explaining — earthy, medium-weight Pinot Noir cuts through cured meat fat and plays nicely with aged cheese without overwhelming either.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Foxcroft is the kind of wine bar that a city like Greenville genuinely needs — accessible, well-stocked, fairly priced, and housed in a space that makes drinking wine feel like an occasion. It's not going to blow out a seasoned wine nerd, but we'd absolutely send a friend here on a Friday night.
