First Impression
You walk into a warmly lit bistro with a historic bar, live jazz in the corner, and a wine list that reads like a greatest-hits album of Paso Robles. For a restaurant that opened recently enough to earn its Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2025, Parchetto is already punching above its weight class.
Selection Deep Dive
The list runs 80-plus bottles deep and leans hard into the local appellation β Tablas Creek, Saxum, Epoch, L'Aventure, Booker, Daou, Justin, and Turley are all present, which is essentially a who's-who of Paso Robles heavyweights. This isn't a list trying to cover every corner of the globe; it's a focused, confident statement that says 'you're in wine country, act accordingly.' Gaps exist outside California β if you're hunting Burgundy or Barolo you'll be disappointed β but that's a feature, not a bug, given the address. The $40-$120 bottle range keeps things accessible without sacrificing quality at either end.
By the Glass
With 10-18 options by the glass priced between $12 and $18, there's genuine range to explore without committing to a bottle. We'd love to see more rotation to highlight the smaller Paso producers, but what's here is solid and honest pours for the price.
Justin Vineyards & Winery Cabernet Sauvignon β $40
Justin at the low end of the bottle range is one of the most reliable buys in Paso β consistently well-made, widely loved, and a natural match for the menu's grilled proteins. Entry point that drinks above its station.
Turley Wine Cellars Zinfandel
Most tables here are reaching for the Cabernet or the RhΓ΄ne blends, but Turley's Zinfandels are the sleeper pick β old-vine intensity with enough structure to stand up to food. Most people walk right past it. Don't.
Daou Vineyards Soul of a Lion
A beautiful wine, no argument there, but at the top of this list's price ceiling it represents the moment where you're paying significantly for the label. There are other bottles here delivering comparable Paso power for considerably less.
L'Aventure Winery Optimus + Lamb skewers
L'Aventure's Syrah-forward RhΓ΄ne blend has the dark fruit and peppery backbone to match grilled lamb without steamrolling it β both the wine and the dish are built around savory intensity, and they find each other perfectly.
π² The Bottom Line
Parchetto is exactly the kind of place Paso Robles does best β warm room, great local producers, fair prices, and a list that makes you feel like the region is showing off for you. Send your friends here, tell them to order a Turley, and let the jazz do the rest.
