First Impression
Two hundred labels in downtown Fayetteville is not something you expect, and Vetro 1925 knows it — the wine list arrives with the quiet confidence of a place that's been doing this longer than most Arkansas restaurants have existed. The California-heavy selections anchor a list that also tips its hat to France and Italy, covering the bases without going too deep on any single region. It's ambitious for the market, even if it plays things fairly safe.
Selection Deep Dive
The list leans hard into California prestige — Joseph Phelps Insignia, Quintessa, Ferrari-Carano Tresoro, and Franciscan's Magnificat and Tapestry all show up, which tells you this place is targeting the special-occasion crowd and not apologizing for it. The bubbly section punches above its weight, running from Domaine Carneros and Roederer Estate all the way up to Veuve Clicquot and Schramsberg Brut Rosé — genuinely solid depth for a sparkling program. The Italian representation, while appropriate for a place named Vetro, stays light — you'd hope for more Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, or southern Italian depth on a list this size. Gaps in the old-world column keep this from being a true destination list, but what's here is thoughtfully curated.
By the Glass
Nine-plus by-the-glass options gives you room to breathe, and the program includes sparkling options which is always a good sign. The glass pours skew accessible — think Emeri Moscato, Beringer White Zin, and Prosecco sitting alongside the more serious options, so the range is wide but the floor is low. We'd love to see more rotation and some mid-tier Italian whites or reds making appearances on the glass list.
Roederer Estate Brut — null
Anderson Valley's answer to Champagne, and Roederer Estate consistently delivers at a fraction of the price of its French sibling. On a list that charges Champagne prices for name recognition, this is the smart pour — complexity, bubbles, and credibility without the Veuve markup.
Schramsberg Brut Rosé
Most tables here are ordering red Meritage or popping Champagne for celebrations. Meanwhile, Schramsberg's Brut Rosé — one of California's most respected sparkling wines — sits quietly on the list. It's got the structure and elegance to hold up through a whole meal, not just the toast.
Champagne Veuve Clicquot
Veuve is the safe play for people who want to impress without thinking about it, and restaurants know they can charge accordingly. You're paying for the yellow label as much as the wine — go with Roederer Estate or Schramsberg and keep the difference.
Domaine Carneros Brut + Pan Seared Diver Scallops
Scallops want acidity and a clean finish — not oak, not tannin. Domaine Carneros Brut brings both, cutting through the sear's richness without bulldozing the delicate sweetness of the scallop. It's the kind of pairing that makes the food taste better and the wine taste more justified.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Vetro 1925 is the best wine list in Fayetteville by a comfortable margin, and if you're celebrating something or just want a serious California Meritage with your pasta, it delivers. Pricing runs on the steep side and the Italian representation could use more ambition, but for northwest Arkansas, this is as reliable as it gets.
